“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner." I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.”
-Carl Rogers-

About Me
Living a life filled with joy, hope, peace and contentment is reachable. Whatever your needs; if you are uncertain about a current relationship, if you are burdened by guilt, if you are sad, if you are anxious, if you are angry, if you are worried or if you feel unmotivated and hopeless; learning strategies to build resilience to live the life you want to live is possible. This is the work I love and I have the experience and expertise to help you.
My name is Delphine; M.Sc., R.P. (CCTP) (Approved NIHB provider). I am an active member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP), and a Registered Psychotherapist. I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). In addition to my own private mental health practice, I am a Registered Psychotherapist at CBT Associates.
I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) through the Massachusetts Hospital, the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and Dr Paula Barratt - Friends programme. I have completed advanced intermediate (level 2) CBT training through Adler Graduate Professional Institute. Additionally, I have training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Brief Solutions Focused therapy (BSFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness techniques (incorporating elements of Polyvagal Theory and emotional freedom techniques). My orientation is integrative. I integrate and adapt my counselling to suit your needs. I am a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP). I am an approved NIHB provider (Non Insured Health Benefits programme).
Individualizing therapy means that I also sometimes incorporate motivational interviewing.
Deciding what we do together in therapy is a collaborative process.
You let me know what you need, and I will tailor my knowledge and expertise to meet your needs; the process will always be collaborative and person-centered.
My unique educational background also allows me to work very successfully with children, adolescents and families. Through my master's degree, I hold a specialization in child and adolescent mental health. I am certified in Think:Kids collaborative problem solving (CPS - Level II ) for explosive kids. CPS has been clinically shown to help kids and teens to regulate their emotions, think things through and problem solve; improving relationships with others, promoting self-esteem and enabling kids and teens to reach their full potential.
